Jonas Mekas, a Lithuanian born American Poet and Filmmaker who is often called the “godfather of avante garde film” was a huge influence in the creative vision of Gus Van Sant. To each of them art is all about defining and capturing the raw moments in life … that slice of pure human emotion.
