The Kobe ART DROP

On Feb 29th, the Lakers were played a home game against the Timberwolves and Kobe was the star, netting 31 points. However, Kobe’s real highlight was hiding in plain sight right before tip-off.

Erik used a burst of creativity earlier in the day and couldn’t help himself but add to his repertoire of NBAlegends painted on canvas (Erik has previously done an ART DROP in Chicago featuring Michael Jordan).

Leaving Kobe right across the street from the Staples Center was a bold move, and it proved to be a fun stunt when it sat alone for less than 5 minutes. Emma on Facebook was bold too when she said “that’s too easy!” Whatever, it was fun. The comments online from people on the hunt for the piece were a ton of fun too.

“ohh Erik..I sent my niece and nephew from LA on a wild goose chase to no avail..Would have been nice in TJ’s room. We’re hooked!”

“I just missed getting an Erik Wahl “Kobe Bryant” painting tonight, by about 4 minutes! Shoot!! I can’t believe I get so close sometimes and come away with nothing! UGH

And Our favorite – “I’m stuck on the I-10.” Isn’t that the story of LA?

In any event, keep in mind that if you find it, you get to keep it, just like these young guys.
